News have been circulating that there is Ebola epidemic in Tanzania. The Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in the Netherlands wishes to inform the general international community that there is no Ebola epidemic in Tanzania. Potential tourists, business people, normal travelers and all friends of Tanzania who are planning to travel to the country are encouraged to proceed with their travel plans. Tanzania is safe.
The Tanzanian Ministry of Health requests all those travelling to Tanzania to ignore the speculations and stay calm since so far there is no any confirmed record of identified and verified Ebola patient(s) in Tanzania. The Ministry has put all the necessary measures to ensure that no cases related to Ebola are transferred into Tanzania.
Meanwhile, the Resident Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Tanzania has confirmed that neither WHO Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland nor any of its regional offices has issued a statement indicating that there is Ebola epidemic in Tanzania.
The Embassy remains vigilant and will keep updating on any emerging health issues for collective precautions.
